Here we have all the information about a very interesting game, often called a clone of “Breath of the Wild”, called “Genshin Impact” developed by the great guys at miHoYo, the creators of “Honkai Impact”.
It is an open world RPG, the extremely lavish art style that is sure to satisfy any anime lover.
It is set in the magical world of Teyvat, where the players come as a “traveler of unknown origin” searching for their lost sibling.
The players can choose between a male and female version of the traveler and will meet, recruit and control a host of original characters all with their own personalities and unique abilities.
In this magical world individuals chosen by the gods receive a pendant called the Vision. This magical item grants them control over one of the natural elements: Cryo, Dendro, Pyro, Hydro, Anemo, Electro and Geo.
This control over the elements ties in with the traversal and combat systems in the game.
As players travel the world they will potentially encounter enemies with elemental affinities or obstacles that can be overcome with the usage of specific elemental magic.
For example, one character can use Cryo to freeze water and reach otherwise inaccessible areas to discover secrets. Or a character that uses Geo to create impenetrable shield to pass through a tough trap.
The game is obviously drawing inspiration, copying and expanding on mechanics seen in “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”.
Like the ability to scale any vertical surface, cook a great plethora of various dishes to increase certain stats or encountering enemy camps throughout the world that have a chest with a reward if you defeat all the enemies.
Though the game has a strong identity of its own, with 30 unique characters to meet and recruit in your travels.
The player will be able to control up to 4 teammates at any given time, chosen from all those the player recruited.
Each unique ability has flashy and artistic visual effects to it and can work in combination with other group members.
This in turn will not only vary the gameplay, but also allow for a great build diversity and choice.
The game is set to release autumn 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One, iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch.
